Softball Game Preview: Franklin Lions vs. C.H. Yoe Yoemen

For the second straight game, Franklin will face off against C.H. Yoe. Franklin will face off against C.H. Yoe at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Franklin has 13 straight wins, C.H. Yoe has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

While Franklin's victory against C.H. Yoe wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Franklin had just enough and edged out C.H. Yoe 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lions have posted since March 7th.

For C.H. Yoe's part, Josie Laureano made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Aniyah Ramirez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Even though they lost, C.H. Yoe always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. This was only their second loss (out of nine games) when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Franklin's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-2-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for C.H. Yoe, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.
