Ian Kowal turned in yet another pitching appearance with fewer than two earned runs surrendered on Thursday. He tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Considering he played a big game the last time he faced off against La Crosse Logan back in April of 2024, the result shouldn't come as too huge a shock. Kowal has become a key player for Onalaska: the team is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-7 otherwise.

Coming up, Kowal and Onalaska will head out to take on Holmen at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Hilltoppers will be headed into this one with a sizable disadvantage in the rankings (they're ranked 146 places lower in Wisconsin), but they're not letting that get them down.
