Baseball Game Preview: Kerens Bobcats vs. Mildred Eagles

For the second straight game, Kerens will face off against Mildred. The Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kerens is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

Kerens took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Mildred by a score of 4-1.

Krayton Ritchie made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Ritchie wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Andy Conklin, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Kerens is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Mildred, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-8.
