Recap: Northland Christian vs. Kansas City East Christian Academy Lions

If Northland Christian were riding high off their 61-21 takedown of the Norborne Pirates last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Northland Christian was outmatched by Kansas City East Christian Academy at home and fell 90-57. While losing is never fun, Northland Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 440th, while Kansas City East Christian Academy is ranked 151st).

Kansas City East Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jared Devine out in front who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Devine hasn't dropped below 18 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Carrillo, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.

Northland Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Kansas City East Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-11 record this season.

Northland Christian will head out on the road to take on St. Pius X at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Northland Christian is facing St. Pius X at the right time seeing as St. Pius X is stuck on a six-game losing streak. Kansas City East Christian Academy is on the road again on Friday and plays St. Louis HomeSchool P at 11:30 a.m. on February 9th. St. Louis HomeSchool P will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something Kansas City East Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
