Basketball Recap: Diamond Takes a Loss

Diamond lost against Jasper back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Diamond Wildcats fell 46-38 to the Jasper Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 258th, while the Eagles are ranked 82nd).

Diamond has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Jasper, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Diamond will venture away from home to square off against Springfield Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Jasper, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Appleton City at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
