Football Recap: Ragland Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Tre Bothwell and A'ron Lee

Ragland lost against Spring Garden back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Purple Devils lost 55-33 to the Panthers. Despite 169 more yards than the Panthers, the Purple Devils couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Ragland's loss came despite strong showings from A'Ron Lee and Tre Bothwell. Lee rushed for 155 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 carries, while Bothwell picked up 196 receiving yards and two scores. Lee's longest rush was for an impressive 55 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Spring Garden was led to victory by Brady Ruark and Zane Edwards. Ruark rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, while Edwards gained 67 total yards.

Ragland's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Spring Garden, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Ragland will face off against Southeastern at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Spring Garden, they will challenge Woodville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
