Baseball Game Preview: Manistee Chippewas vs. Ludington Orioles

Manistee is 1-9 against Ludington since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Chippewas are taking a road trip to challenge the Orioles at 4:00 p.m. Manistee will be strutting in after a victory while Ludington will be coming in after a loss.

On Monday, Manistee was able to grind out a solid win over Evart, taking the game 7-2.

Manistee's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Eli Workman, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Josh Weiss also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Ludington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 7-0 to Waverly. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Orioles have suffered since April 30, 2024.

Manistee's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Ludington, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Manistee couldn't quite get it done against Ludington when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 12-8. Can the Chippewas avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
