Basketball Game Preview: Cave Springs Hornets vs. Braggs Wildcats

The Cave Springs Hornets will face off against the Braggs Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 71-33, which was the final score in Cave Springs' tilt against Vian on Friday. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Braggs' undefeated season came to an end after 16 games on Friday. They fell just short of Wilson-Henryetta by a score of 62-60. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Wildcats came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while the Tigers are ranked 168th).

Braggs' loss ended a 14-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 16-1. As for Cave Springs, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Cave Springs took a serious blow against Braggs in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 61-29. Can Cave Springs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
