Basketball Recap: Minto Gets the Win

Minto's game on Sunday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They walked away with a 61-54 victory over the Valdez Buccaneers.

Minto found their leader in freshman Tayla Baker, who posted 20 points. The Lakers are undefeated when Baker posts 15 or more points, but 0-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Ruth Fox, who earned 12 points.

The win got Minto back to even at 3-3. As for Valdez, their record is now 0-2.

Minto will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Non Varsity Opponent on January 23, 2026. Valdez has already played their next contest (against Kodiak), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
