Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grossmont). They put the hurt on the Classical Academy Caimans with a sharp 58-34 victory on Friday.

Grossmont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Andrew Ashton led the charge by shooting 45% from the field en route to 15 points. Another player making a difference was Rayin Hamlett, who posted 13 points.

Classical Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Drew Davis, who earned nine points. Zachary Meister was another key player, putting up seven points.

Grossmont picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Classical Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Grossmont has already played their next contest, a 47-43 loss against Patrick Henry on the 9th. As for Classical Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 56-42 defeat against St. Joseph Academy on the 9th.
