Softball Recap: Middletown Takes a Loss

Middletown's last matchup with Kingston could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Saturday. The Middie Bears lost 8-0 to the Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 2-0 loss back in April.

Middletown dropped their record down to 6-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Kingston, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-9 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Middletown will challenge Newburgh Free Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Middie Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Goldbacks have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Kingston, they will face off against Rondout Valley at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
