Basketball Recap: Pymatuning Valley Wins Going Away Against Maplewood

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mathews, Pymatuning Valley was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the Maplewood Rockets with a sharp 65-45 victory. That 20 point margin sets a new team best for the Lakers this season.

Maplewood's loss came despite strong showings from Tyson Webster and Andrew Donaldson. Webster went 7 for 17 on his way to 16 points and four steals, while Donaldson posted 13 points and five steals. Those 16 points gave Webster a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Steve Manes, who had eight points and five rebounds.

Pymatuning Valley now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Maplewood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Pymatuning Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-57 win against Champion on the 14th. Maplewood will take on Grand Valley in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grand Valley will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Maplewood surely won't give up without a fight.
