The Caroline Cavaliers will head out on the road to challenge the Chancellor Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Caroline is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.
Caroline barely beat Mechanicsville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cavaliers blew past the Mustangs 16-1 on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cavaliers considering their two-run performance the contest before.
Jaidyn Tingen made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Tingen was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ava Anderson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Kaid Hartsell, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Caroline always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mechanicsville only posted an OBP of .059.
Meanwhile, Chancellor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 25th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Courtland, falling 20-0.
Chancellor saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Francesca Williams, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.
The win made it two in a row for Caroline and bumps their season record up to 6-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Chancellor, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
Chancellor's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Caroline has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .510. It's a different story for Chancellor, though, as they've only averaged .258. Will they be able to contain Caroline's hitters?
Caroline took their win against Chancellor when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 15-0 score. Will the Cavaliers repeat their success, or do the Chargers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
