Softball Game Preview: Central Tigers vs. Riverview Raiders

The Central Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the Riverview Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Riverview took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Central, who comes in off a win.

Central will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Little Rock Southwest on Thursday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Gryphons with a sharp 16-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 12 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Riverview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Rose Bud. That's two games in a row now that the Raiders have lost by just one run.

Central has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Riverview, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
