Football Recap: Green Valley Takes Down Ranked Legacy

On Tuesday, Green Valley faced Legacy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Green Valley Gators had just enough and edged the Legacy Longhorns out 24-21. The Gators have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Longhorns, too.

A big part of Green Valley's win came down to the chemistry between Janae Peebles and her top target Lauryn Galvin. Peebles threw for 223 yards and four touchdowns while Galvin picked up 59 receiving yards and three touchdowns. That's the most receiving yards Galvin has posted since back in December of 2024. A healthy portion of Peebles' aerial production (87 yards to be exact) also went to Lyla Baxter.

Green Valley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.0 points per game. As for Legacy, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.

Green Valley will challenge Las Vegas at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Legacy, they will take on Pinecrest Academy Cadence at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pinecrest Academy Cadence will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Legacy surely won't give up without a fight.
