Volleyball Recap: Universal Academy Comes Up Short

Universal Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Winthrop College Prep Academy Spartans. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Universal Academy took Winthrop College Prep Academy into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-20, 25-19, 18-25, 15-11.

Universal Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Winthrop College Prep Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-8.

Coincidentally, Universal Academy and Winthrop College Prep Academy will both be playing Foundation Christian Academy the next time they take the court. The Falcons will host the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Spartans will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
