Recap: Neuse Christian Academy Lions vs. Friendship Christian Falcons
The Neuse Christian Academy Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Friendship Christian 61-26. Neuse Christian Academy has not had much luck with Friendship Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the loss, Neuse Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Westin Tilley scored four points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Reed Ransone, who scored five points along with two blocks.
Leading Friendship Christian to victory were Hunter Peed and Liam Willis. Peed scored 16 points along with three steals, while Willis scored 17 points along with two steals. Willis hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Eugene Amadi, who scored six points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Neuse Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season. As for Friendship Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-6.
Neuse Christian Academy will be playing at home against St. Thomas More Academy at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Friendship Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face Thales Academy Apex at 6:45 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully Thales Academy Apex focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday.
