Volleyball Recap: Mayfield Takes a Loss

Mayfield was the 3-1 winner over Village Christian when they last played one another back in September of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Cubs fell 2-0 to the Crusaders on Saturday. The Cubs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Village Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Izzy Aragon led the charge by getting 11 digs and two assists. Aragon has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times she's played.

Mayfield's loss dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Village Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, Mayfield and Village Christian will both be playing Basha the next time they take the court. The Crusaders will head out to face the Bears at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Cubs will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
