For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Waterford and Belpre have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Golden Eagles with a sharp 21-4 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

Waterford pushed their record up to 12-7 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Belpre, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.

Looking ahead, Waterford will challenge Fort Frye at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cadets' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Belpre, they will be playing at home against Frontier at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
