Soccer Game Preview: Merritt Island vs. Bishop Moore

The Merritt Island Mustangs will head out on the road to challenge the Bishop Moore Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Merritt Island will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Merritt Island is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Satellite a 1-0 shutout. The Mustangs wouldn't have won without Heide Trout, who scored the game-winner.

Meanwhile, Bishop Moore had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They blew past the Sharks 7-0. Give the Hornets' defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Bishop Moore pushed their record up to 12-6-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those three contests. As for Merritt Island, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 8-5-3.
