Ferndale had lost three games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 7-9 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They won by a run and slipped past the Shanksville Stonycreek Vikings 6-5. This was a revenge game for the Yellow Jackets: when they faced off against the Vikings last Monday, they had to take a 11-3 defeat.

Ferndale's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Maddex Chuklochak, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. That's the most RBI Chuklochak has posted since April 6th. Brady Ferenchik was another, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

As for Shanksville Stonycreek, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by just one run.

On Shanksville Stonycreek's side, Isaac Thiele and Hunter Critchfield stepped up to the plate in a big way. Thiele went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Critchfield went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Thiele is becoming a predictor of Shanksville Stonycreek's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 4-7 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Hunter Haer, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Ferndale didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 16-0 loss against Meyersdale on the 4th. As for Shanksville Stonycreek, they have also already played their next game, a 7-3 defeat against Blacklick Valley on the 4th.
