Baseball Game Preview: Polytechnic Panthers vs. Temple City Rams

The Polytechnic Panthers will face off against the Temple City Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Temple City took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Polytechnic, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Polytechnic turned things around against Eagle Rock on Monday. They walked away with an 11-8 victory over the Eagles. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Caiden Kennedy, who scored four runs while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Harrison Unanue, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Temple City fell victim to Monrovia and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 5-0 to the Wildcats, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Polytechnic's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Temple City, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6-1.

Polytechnic couldn't quite get it done against Temple City when the teams last played last Monday as they fell 7-3. Can Polytechnic avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
