Softball Recap: Rifle Bears vs. Basalt Longhorns

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Delta, Rifle was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Basalt Longhorns by a score of 9-4. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bears as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Olivia Gordon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Rylan Petree was a standout: she scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
