Blacklick Valley wins going away against Ferndale

Recap: Blacklick Valley Vikings vs. Ferndale Yellow Jackets

The Blacklick Valley Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 23 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 56-33 margin over Ferndale. The win was just what Blacklick Valley needed coming off of a 64-36 defeat in their prior matchup.

Alex Reba continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 17 points. Collin Nedrich was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.

Ferndale's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aeden Hrivnak, who scored six points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hrivnak has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Hrivnak, who scored five points along with three steals.

Even though they lost, Ferndale were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Blacklick Valley only pulled down eight offensive rebounds.

Blacklick Valley now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Ferndale, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blacklick Valley will be home for the holidays to greet Turkeyfoot Valley Area at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Turkeyfoot Valley Area is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Ferndale will be home for the holidays to greet Rockwood at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Rockwood is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
