Soccer Recap: Grapevine Takes a Loss

If Grapevine was feeling good fresh off their 4-0 takedown of Ryan last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Grapevine Mustangs fell 4-2 to the Birdville Hawks on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 246th, while the Hawks are ranked 93rd).

Chloe O'Steen and Tatum Harig scored both of Grapevine's goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.

Grapevine's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Birdville, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-3.

Coming up, Grapevine will face off against Richland at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Birdville, they will look to defend their home pitch on Friday against Colleyville Heritage at 6:30 p.m. Colleyville Heritage's defense has only allowed 0.4 goals per game this season, so Birdville's offense will have their work cut out for them.
