Baseball Recap: Winona Comes Up Short

Winona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 12-2 to the Liberty Eagles. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 9-5 to the Eagles when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Winona's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Liberty, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season.

Winona wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 18-2 loss against Bakersfield on the 14th. As for Liberty, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-3 defeat against Ava on the 14th.
