Baseball Recap: Sunrise Mountain Triumphs

The Sunrise Mountain Mustangs beat the Lake Havasu Knights 8-5 on Monday.

Fernando Cabral looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two hits in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jorge Campillo, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Chase Heid was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Sunrise Mountain was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Sunrise Mountain's record is now 12-9. As for Lake Havasu, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-6.

Sunrise Mountain will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Knights: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
