Volleyball Recap: Douglas County West Comes Up Short

Douglas County West lost against Oakland-Craig back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Falcon fell just short of the Knights by a score of 2-1. The Falcon have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Douglas County West sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-20, 22-25, 25-21.

Mallory Shaw paced Douglas County West's offense, picking up 11 kills. Shaw got some help from Amelia North and her 14 assists. Ava Newbauer and Kinley Nelson kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with four aces apiece.

Douglas County West's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Oakland-Craig, their victory was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-6.

Coming up, Douglas County West will welcome Arlington at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Oakland-Craig, they have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against West Point-Beemer on the 7th.
