Norton and Medway are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Lancers will square off against the Mustangs at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Norton has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Medway will arrive with four straight wins.
Norton fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Bellingham on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Blackhawks by a score of 4-2.
Norton saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Irish, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Medway made sure to put some runs up on the board against Dover-Sherborn on Wednesday. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 13-5 victory. The contest marked the Mustangs' most dominant win of the season so far.
Eli Kell made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Ryan Heavner looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits.
Back at the plate, Aidan Tkowski was incredible, going 4-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2025. Evan Bosse also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Norton's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Medway, their record is now 5-1.
Norton might still be hurting after the 9-3 defeat they got from Medway in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Lancers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
