Trinity Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Riley Burnham led the charge by going 5 of 9 en route to 12 points and six steals. Burnham is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played. Macey Skinner was another key player, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards.
Trinity Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in eight consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Gramercy Christian hadn't done well against New Bern Christian Academy recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Gramercy Christian came out on top against New Bern Christian Academy by a score of 54-44.
Gramercy Christian's win came from a few key players Trinity Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Addi Cook, who shot 4-for-6 from deep and almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine rebounds. Those 25 points gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kinley Butler, who made all 6 shots she took from beyond the arc for 21 points.
Trinity Christian's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.1 points per game. As for Gramercy Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-5 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Trinity Christian has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 34.9 boards per game. However, it's not like Gramercy Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.4 rebounds.
