Football Game Preview: TMI-Episcopal Panthers vs. St. Stephen's Episcopal Spartans

After each having a week off, the TMI-Episcopal Panthers and the St. Stephen's Episcopal Spartans will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. TMI-Episcopal knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully St. Stephen's Episcopal likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, TMI-Episcopal came up short against Long Creek and fell 45-34. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game back in September (33), the Panthers still had to take the loss.

TMI-Episcopal's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Matthew Anderson, who picked up 231 receiving yards and four touchdowns, and Hagen Young, who threw for 286 yards and four TDs while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt. Anderson is crushing it when it comes to receiving yards: he's posted at least 115 every time he's taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, St. Stephen's Episcopal put another one in the bag last Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 47-0 victory over Liberal Arts & Science Academy - Austin. Considering the Spartans have won four contests by more than 40 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

St. Stephen's Episcopal's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for TMI-Episcopal, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

TMI-Episcopal came up short against St. Stephen's Episcopal when the teams last played back in October of 2017, falling 23-18. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
