Taylorville waltzed into their contest on Thursday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They came out on top against the Mt. Zion Braves by a score of 2-0. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 2-1 victory two weeks ago.

While Taylorville won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 26-24.

Taylorville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Molly Smith, who had nine digs and three aces. That's the most digs Smith has posted over her last ten matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Alayna Vincent, who had 11 kills and eight digs.

Taylorville's victory bumped their record up to 32-5. As for Mt. Zion, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 20-16 record.

Coming up, Taylorville will square off against Mater Dei at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mt. Zion does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
