Football Game Preview: St. Charles Pirates vs. Orchard Farm Eagles

St. Charles is 2-8 against Orchard Farm since September of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. St. Charles has given up an average of 34.2 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

St. Charles is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against North Point on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Pirates took a blow against the Grizzlies, falling 67-10. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 265th, while the Grizzlies are ranked 103rd).

Meanwhile, Orchard Farm was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 36-30 to Moberly. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Orchard Farm fell to 8-1. As for St. Charles, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

St. Charles was dealt a bruising 49-3 defeat at the hands of Orchard Farm in their previous matchup back in September. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Pirates were down 35-0.
