Basketball Recap: Briley Clampitt Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Highlands

Hayesville won the last time they faced Highlands and things went their way on Saturday too. The Hayesville Yellowjackets walked away with a 43-31 victory over the Highlands Highlanders. That's two games straight that the Yellowjackets have won by exactly 12 points.

Hayesville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Briley Clampitt, who posted nine points and five boards. What's more, Clampitt also posted a 75% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ava Shook, who earned nine points and six rebounds.

Hayesville was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.

Hayesville's win bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Highlands, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 12-10.

Hayesville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 49-35 victory against Murphy on the 11th. Highlands does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
