Football Game Preview: Spencer Greenwave vs. Shaw Raiders + Official Tickets

After each having a week off, the Spencer Greenwave and the Shaw Raiders will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Spencer is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Sumter County just ended the team's three-game winning streak last Friday. They took a blow against the Panthers, falling 51-14. The Greenwave were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-0.

Meanwhile, Shaw fell victim to Carver and their airtight defense two weeks ago. They were dealt a 47-0 loss at the hands of the Tigers. The Raiders have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Spencer now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Shaw, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Spencer beat Shaw 16-7 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Greenwave since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
