Northern Lakes recap Oct. 9, 2012

Perrysburg extended the longest winning streak in Northern Lakes this week by beating Northview, 51-8. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Yellowjackets.

Maumee moved up to 172 from 215 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Panthers climbed the ranks as a result of a 40-7 win over Springfield.

Maumee's dynamic duo of Steve Duby and Andrew Schultz proved tough for the Blue Devils to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Duby threw for 249 yards and four touchdowns and Schultz had 103 yards receiving. Dominique King helped Maumee's passing attack out by catching four balls for 93 yards.

Bryant Schlade was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 106 yards on 14 carries as Napoleon bested Springfield. Teammate Max Westhoven added to the ground attack by rushing for 76 yards.

Maumee's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Panthers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Duby has thrown for 1223 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while King has 17 catches for 416 yards. Schultz leads the league in rushing with 817 yards.

The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Napoleon takes on second place Perrysburg. Last week, the Wildcats topped Anthony Wayne, while Perrysburg beat the Wildcats.

Matt Kregel's team took down Northview 51-8 last week, the largest margin of any game.
