Softball Recap: Troy Beats Fairborn for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Troy waltzed into their game on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over the Fairborn Skyhawks. Considering the Trojans have won four matchups by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Mimi Shaw was a standout: she scored four runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-5. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Amayah Kennedy was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.

Shaw wasn't the only one making solid contact: Troy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive contests.

Troy's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Fairborn, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Troy will challenge Butler at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Fairborn, they will take on Bradford at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Skyhawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Railroaders have averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season.
