Ecorse waltzed into their game on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Avondale Yellowjackets. The result was nothing new for the Red Raiders, who have now won 11 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Darwin Urdaneta and Amari Owens did most of the damage at the plate: Urdaneta went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Owens went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits Urdaneta has posted over his last five matchups. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Chandler, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

Ecorse's victory bumped their record up to 16-6. As for Avondale, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-6-1 record this season.

Ecorse has already played their next contest (against Summit Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Avondale, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Shrine Catholic at 4:30 p.m.
