Softball Game Preview: Center Point Pirates vs. Goldthwaite Eagles

For the second straight game, Center Point will face off against Goldthwaite. Center Point will host Goldthwaite at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Center Point is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.

Center Point lost 18-2 to Goldthwaite on Friday.

For Goldthwaite's part, Rylee Greenway made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Greenway was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Paisley Hughes, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Addisyn Howard, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Goldthwaite kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Center Point's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Goldthwaite, their victory bumped their record up to 3-8.
