Soccer Game Preview: Plantation vs. Hollywood Hills

The Plantation Colonels will square off against the Hollywood Hills Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Plantation is headed into the match having not lost since December 4 and will look to keep things rolling. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Hallandale on Tuesday, sneaking past 2-1. Two seems to be a good number for the Colonels as the team scooped up a win with the same number of goals in their previous game.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hollywood Hills). They never let International Studies onto the board and left with a 7-0 victory on Monday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Spartans considering their one-goal performance the contest before.

Their offense was hitting International Studies from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Dahnay Mark led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Plantation pushed their record up to 6-5-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Hollywood Hills, they now also have a winning record of 6-5-2.

Plantation took their victory against Hollywood Hills in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 7-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Plantation since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
