Football Game Preview: Splendora Wildcats vs. Dayton Broncos + How To Watch

The Splendora Wildcats will face off against the Dayton Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Splendora is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Splendora is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Montgomery on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Wildcats took a blow against the Bears, falling 56-19. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-7.

Despite the defeat, Splendora saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brayden Hinton threw for 236 yards and three TDs while picking up 10.7 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 46 yards. Kairee Williams was another key player, picking up 122 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Meanwhile, Dayton was just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 42-41 to Huntsville. The Broncos were up 21-7 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Splendora will need to focus on slowing down Denim Foster, one of several Dayton players who made an impact when they last played. He picked up 96 receiving yards and a pair of scores, and also rushed for 79 yards and one TD. Another player making a difference was Jerry Prieto Jr, who threw for 300 yards and three touchdowns.

Even if they lost, Dayton's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Leading the way was Merkle Judge with two.

Splendora's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Dayton, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
