Basketball Preview: Capital Cougars vs. Huntington Highlanders
Capital has been on the road for three straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Huntington Highlanders at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Capital came up short against the Knights and fell 69-62.
Meanwhile, Huntington faced the Mohigans in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Huntington took a serious blow against the Mohigans on Saturday, falling 98-57. Huntington's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jayden Clark, who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Mikey Johnson, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Capital's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Huntington, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.
Things could have been worse for Capital, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 77-59 loss to the Highlanders when the teams last played back in January of 2023.
