Basketball Game Preview: Eastwood Troopers vs. Hanks Knights

Eastwood is 9-1 against Hanks since December of 2014 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Eastwood Troopers will host the Hanks Knights at 7:30 p.m. Eastwood will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Eastwood is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Del Valle: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Eastwood blew Del Valle out of the water with a 66-30 final score. Given the Troopers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 275th, while the Conquistadores are ranked 564th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Devin Falk-Ramirez was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. His evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Rodriguez, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, Hanks had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Midland by a score of 49-42 on Tuesday.

Eastwood's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.2 points per game. As for Hanks, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10.

Eastwood took their win against Hanks when the teams last played back in November of 2023 by a conclusive 46-25. Does Eastwood have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hanks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
