Volleyball Game Preview: Butler Bears vs. Lutheran Knights

The Butler Bears will take on the Lutheran Knights in a tournament on Saturday. Butler will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

On Thursday, Butler got the win against Prairie View by a conclusive 3-0.

Meanwhile, Lutheran came up short against Maranatha Christian Academy on Thursday and fell 3-1. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Maranatha Christian Academy scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-17, 23-25, 25-19.

Butler will have to contain Ainsley Bruening as she made an impact in Lutheran's last game. She had nine digs.

Butler's win bumped their record up to 16-1-1. As for Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.

Butler was able to grind out a solid victory over Lutheran in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 2-0. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
