Football Game Preview: Silliman Institute Wildcats vs. Parklane Academy Pioneers

Silliman Institute hasn't had much luck against Parklane Academy recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wildcats will challenge the Pioneers at 7:00 p.m.

Silliman Institute is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Jackson Prep on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Wildcats had to suffer through a 52-6 loss at the hands of the Patriots. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 94th in Louisiana, while the Patriots are ranked 24th in Mississippi).

Meanwhile, Parklane Academy was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Simpson Academy 48-19. The Pioneers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by 23 points or more this season.

Silliman Institute's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Parklane Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.

Silliman Institute took a serious blow against Parklane Academy in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 42-12. Thankfully for the Wildcats, Jax Toler (who rushed for 224 yards and four scores while picking up 9.0 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
