Volleyball Game Preview: Freeman Flyers vs. Oldham-Ramona/R Rutland

Freeman and Oldham-Ramona/R are an even 4-4 against one another since October of 2018, but not for long. The Flyers are taking a road trip to challenge the Rutland at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Thursday, Freeman didn't have quite enough to beat Corsica/Stickney and fell 3-2. The Flyers have struggled against the Jaguars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Freeman wouldn't go down easily and took Corsica/Stickney into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-13, 26-28, 21-25, 15-11.

Meanwhile, Oldham-Ramona/R came up short against DeSmet on Thursday, falling 3-0.

While Oldham-Ramona/R ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-20, 25-18.

Oldham-Ramona/R's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Freeman, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-8.

Everything went Freeman's way against Oldham-Ramona/R when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Freeman made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Flyers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
