Clinton made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Juda, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Cougars put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 7-1 victory on Saturday. Considering the Cougars have won four matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Andie Bell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Vada Matts was excellent, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Keylee VanderPahl, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Clinton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
