Soccer Game Preview: Thurston vs. Springfield

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Thurston and Crater, and Thurston kept the tradition alive. The Colts never let the Comets get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Saturday. That's two games straight that Thurston have won by exactly two goals.

Meanwhile, Springfield can bid farewell to their seven-match losing streak thanks to their match on Saturday. They came out on top against Eagle Point by a score of 2-0. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Thurston's win bumped their record up to 7-3-1. As for Springfield, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-8.

Thurston was able to grind out a solid win over Springfield in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Colts since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
