Baseball Recap: Homestead Takes a Loss

Homestead had lost six straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 11-15 to make it seven. They lost 6-0 to the Los Altos Eagles. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Mustangs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Los Altos, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

For Los Altos' part, Homestead's batters probably weren't too happy with Sly Cash, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 11 Ks (he gave up a single walk).

On the hitting side, Quinn Chiochios was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Emmett Heath was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

While Homestead had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
