Basketball Recap: Schuyler Takes a Loss

Schuyler was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Central City Bison 58-19. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 188th, while the Bison are ranked 48th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Central City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Reagan Fousek, who went 7 for 10 on her way to 15 points and six steals. Journi Schindler was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Schuyler's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Central City, they pushed their record up to 17-2 with the win, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Schuyler didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-30 defeat against Aurora on the 1st. As for Central City, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lakeview at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th. One thing working in Central City's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
